Autumn to Winter in two days

Posted by HannahEngelkamp 7th December 2011

Those fine folks at YSE Chalets are back with their daily pictures from Val d'Isere - sign up on their site if you don't get them already.

We are particularly boggled by these two - the first is from the 1st of December, the second from today. The first shows the impressive carpet of fake snow they'd managed to squeeze onto the length of the OK run, making a metre-deep base despite not a flake of snow. And the second shows a town sighing a giant sigh of relief under nearly a metre of perfect powder. If you are heading out for an early ski, you are in for a big treat.

And Val d'Isere with snow at last

About the author

Hannah is MadDogSki's editor, which involves a pretty decent balance between trawling around behind the scenes of this website you see before you, and zipping around the pistes and bars of the Alps. Please email me if you've got any suggestions about things you'd like to see on here, and I'll see what I can do (especially if you demand stories on heli-skiing, the world's best spas or vin chaud tests, personally researched. Well, it would be rude not to).
