Freestyle fun in Les Arcs
Posted by Tim Wilson 20th January 2012
With the sunny weather we've had for the last ten days or so many people have been taking advantage of the excellent Snowpark in Les Arcs. There is something for all levels and a T-bar drag lift that brings you efficiently back to the top.
While I was there, they were working on an enormous black kicker and what I can only imagine will eventually be a quarter-pipe with a large obstacle at the top for the experts to jib off! You only need to look at the comparative size of the red and green jumps behind to see just how phat the new black will be.
So much fun to be had in one area and all to the sound of hip hop music.
Alas it is going to snow for the next few days so it'll be off with the freestyle hat and back on with the freeride one!
About the author
Having done my first winter season in Whistler, Canada, I made my European debut in Val Thorens working for Erna Low. They are such a great company that I couldn't resist doing another season in VT before moving to Avoriaz for 2 more, followed by a winter in Val d'Isere. Since then I've been in la Plagne for the last 4 winters, still with Erna Low! Over this time I have gradually been converted from a snowboarder to a skier and now that I am good enough to ski in powder I am generally on two planks rather than one
