Alpbach — On the piste

Alpbach first opened for skiing in 1961 and has been growing ever since, with the connection of the slopes to Inneralpbach in 1978. The modern day Alpbachtal has something to suit most ages and abilities of skier with over 50km of pistes and a half pipe for snowboarders. The piste authorities groom the slopes at night and early in the morning to ensure that the conditions are as good as they can be when the lifts open at breakfast time.

Families will be impressed by the specific beginner and children’s areas, and the reliability of the pistes is constantly improving with snow cannons now in operation across 80% of the ski area. Advanced skiers won’t have any problem in skiing the entire area in the first couple of days, but there are sufficient steeps and bumps to keep challenging yourself. Access to the surrounding areas is easy with the use of the free ski bus.
