St Anton — Where to stay

Lying at an altitude of 1300m, St Anton is a bustling little place that is easy to orientate. Without a centre as such, the town extends from west to east (and vice versa!) along the main 'Fussgaengerzone', a pedestrianised street where the majority of shops, ski hire and nightlife can be found. Apart from perusing the shops, the walk from end-to-end should take you no more than 10 minutes. If you are staying outside the centre of town, try to be near a bus stop; a free, frequent and well-serviced ski bus runs between St Anton and the suburbs but services in the evening are less frequent.
 
Most of the hotels tend to be clustered in the centre and these are the more luxurious option, often with welcome facilities such as steam rooms, swimming pools and on-site bars. The St Antoner Hof is hard to beat in terms of comfort and facilities whilst the Hotel Brunnenhof is a romantic hideaway offering five course dinners. For a less formal option but with no hassles in terms of cooking and cleaning take a look at the catered chalet options in resort. Scott Dunn dominate the luxury end with Total and Flexiski also offering several chalets.  The Nasserein area is particularly popular with UK tour operators. Mark Warner has child-friendly chalets in this part of the resort – a great option for families. If you prefer the freedom of being your own boss you will find plenty of self-catered apartments in St Anton, although there are very few available on package deals. The pick of the bunch is the Bachmann Apartments, again in the Nasserein area.
