If you want a day off the slopes or just want some variation from the ups and downs of mountain pastimes, then check out our list of other things to do. There are a lot of activities which are based in Chamonix - just down the road.
For shopping might we suggest you pop down to Chamonix to get your retail therapy fix. Argentiere has a couple of patisseries, a chemist and a butcher so although you can get basics there isn't much to offer.
