Chamonix — Families

Skiing with the family can be a wonderful experience for everybody but preparation is the key to a relaxing time. Childcare facilities and ski school do get very busy so if possible book well in advance. See our top ten tips for ski holidays with children here.

Chamonix is really well prepared to cater for your holidays with the family. In addition to the usual resort services detailed below they have some useful guidelines regarding altitude and children on their website. On the same page they have a list of babysitters in Chamonix and Argentière.

Ski School

There's an enormous range with regard Children's ski and snowboard lessons. A full list of ski schools in Chamonix can be seen on the Chamonix website.

Lessons are available as part of a group or privately; covering the basics or going in to detail on anything from freestyle to telemark.

For younger children a half-day lesson followed by half-day child minding service is also available.

Day Care

Most of the day care for children is aimed at those from the age of three and upwards. The services are provided by the French ski schools of Chamonix and Argnetière and Evolution 2.

For children under three years old you will need to choose a babysitter from the list provided by the tourist office.
