Les Arcs — Families

Skiing with the family can be a wonderful experience for everybody but preparation is the key to a relaxing time for all. Childcare facilities and ski school do get very busy so if possible book well in advance. See our top ten tips for ski holidays with children here.

All the villages of Les Arcs cater well for children. Most have dedicated nurseries and snowgardens as well as some sledging areas and other activities aimed specifically at children. 

Ski schools

The ski schools all offer options for children of various ages. For very young kids there is the opportunity to get on skis in a controlled environment from the age of about 3-4 years. It's worth booking ahead during the busiest school holiday weeks to ensure a place. Other ski schools operate similar services such as Spirit 1950 (in 1950) and Arc Aventures in 1800.

Childcare

The national French ski school (ESF) are present throughout Les Arcs and run many of the facilities for children. There are crêches for the youngest and snowgardens for those old enough to play outside.

Restaurants

Some restaurants provide a specific child menu (e.g. the Kilimanjaro in Arc 2000) and most offer a child friendly service.

Activities

There are plenty of family activities like ice-skating, bowling etc and at Christmas time you might even get to meet Santa Claus. You could visit the ice cave at the top of the Arcabulle and then toboggan down on the newly opened sledging track.
