Serre Chevalier — Food and drink

Eating out in Serre Chevalier is a typically French affair, with many charming restaurants in the villages, serving local specialities. Between the villages there are over 100 eateries to choose from, ranging from simple snack menus to Michelin Starred restaurants. It would be fair to say that Serre Chevalier is not a party resort. Apres-ski is very local - you won't find the enclaves of Brits that are a feature of other French resorts. However, the range of bars is good, and there are a couple of nightclubs too.

There are 14 restaurants to choose from on the mountains too with a refreshingly good range of menus. The locals tend to congregate in the Peyra-Juana on the piste down to Monetiers, where you can get a main course for 10 Euros and get warm in front of the roaring fire. At the other end of the spectrum you can’t beat the fresh lobster at Bivouac de la Casse, above the Casse de Boeuf chairlift.
