St Martin de Belleville — On the piste
The local slopes of St Martin have seen a lot of upgrading in recent years to bring them up to the same high standard as elsewhere in the Trois Vallees. The old draglift from the village was a tough introduction but it is now much improved and the snowfield between St Martin and Les Menuires has seen several new chairs replacing old drag lifts too.
Beginners may get a sense of cabin fever as there are very few easy slopes to progress onto from the nursery area in the village. St Martin is very much an intermediates resort and intermediate skiers will find that the nearby Pointe de Masse is the place to be for quiet confidence-building slopes. Advanced skiers and boarders can access the expert terrain of the wider area from here but it’s not the most convenient start point. Snowboarders will have to go to Les Menuires to find a snowpark.
