Val d'Isere — Things to do
Whether you are a non-skier, bad weather has driven you off the slopes or you simply want a change, there are a host of things to do in Val d’Isère. Neighbouring Tignes may also be worth a look.
Even if you decide to go to Val as a non-skier there will be plenty to keep you occupied including art exhibitions, bowling, bridge, the cinema and many more.
The leisure centre
The leisure centre in Val d'Isère is open every day. Evey ski liftpass valid from two to 15 days entitles you to one free swim!
In addition to the pool the centre has a climbing area, multi-activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, squash courts and wellness zone.
Some cultural flavour
The International Mountain Cultural Action group organises guided tours and snowshoe excursions to highlight the history and culture of Val d'Isère. The tours include a look at the resort's Baroque church.
Other activites
In addition the resort offers some interesting alternative activites including visits to a local farm to see cheese making, pastry making classes and igloo visits.
Events
Val itself holds an eclectic mix of events from the Val d'Isère Polo Masters to an international Alpine Ski Race for children: La Scara. But the biggest coup is being right next door to Tignes where they hold the Winter X Games Europe. It means you can ski over and watch the action without having the resort you're staying in over run with press and media!
Check the Val d'Isère website for a current list of events in resort.
