Cervinia — Where to stay

The accommodation in Cervinia is mostly hotels and self-catered apartments and the utilitarian feel of the resort doesn’t really lend itself to too many quaint chalets. A lot of people come to Cervinia in order to ski the Zermatt / Matterhorn area on a budget and if that is the case the best option would be to self-cater. There are plenty of agencies with apartments sleeping 2 to 10 people and the first port of call should be the tourist office. One complex worthy of mention though is the Cielo Alto apartments which combine ski in and out convenience with good facilities in the immediate area. The residence has a respectable pizzeria and bar on the ground floor.
 
Other options for those on a budget include the cheaper end of the hotel market such as the one star Albergo Carrel which offers B&B at reasonable rates and a free shuttle bus to the lifts. The two star Hotel Fosson has been renovated and now offers half-board deals in nice single and double rooms just a few hundred metres from the action in the centre of resort.
 
At the top end of the spectrum when it comes to accommodation is probably the Hotel Hermitage or the four star Hotel Europa and if you have the money you won’t be disappointed with the quality of the facilities or the service provided in either. Both offer spacious rooms, gourmet food and good leisure facilities such as swimming pool, reading room and games room.
