Laax/Flims — Things to do

Laax has less in the way of activities than some other resorts. However, if you plan ahead there are plenty of activities to keep you and the kids occupied. Expect the usual rack of mountain entertainment from horse drawn sleigh rides to lifting weights at the gym or relaxing by the pool.

Sports and relaxation

Since the 1880s, Flims has been a destination for spas and wellness centers, and it continues this tradition today. Flims Sports Centre has an ice rink open from July to the end of March, a fitness room, shooting range, solarium, table tennis and an outdoor ice rink and Bavarian Curling for the winter.

Close to Laax is Vals, the famous thermal bath, built by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor.

But if you don't fancy a drive the Hotel Signina in Laax offers a pool, steam bath and massage.

Public observatory

Falera is home to the Sternwarte Mirasteillas – a public observatory – offering the village a scientific air. And if you fancy some sight-seeing take a look at some good old megalithic rock at the Parc La Mutta Falera.

Shopping

Laax offers the usual range of winter sport orientated retailers but head to Flims for a taste of contemporary boutique shopping.
