Upon arrival in Zermatt it doesn’t take long to realise that you have arrived in a truly world class winter sports resort. Serious alpinists mix effortlessly with the rich and famous and 5 star hotels are found just a few hundred metres from McDonalds. In a nutshell, Zermatt suits everyone. The charming village, fantastic year round skiing and superb restaurants are difficult to beat, whilst the sight of the Matterhorn will take your breath away. Zermatt’s ski area has around 300km of pistes, and a minimum of 18km open throughout the summer.

The slopes of Klein Matterhorn link in to the resort of Cervinia, on the Italian side of the border, giving the ‘Matterhorn Ski Paradise’ an extent of terrain that is almost impossible to cover in a season let alone a holiday. The journey to resort from Geneva or Zurich can be arduous, but well worth the effort for a resort that deserves its place in the ‘Best of the alps’ group of resorts.

 

 

 

  1. Take a gorge adventure guided climb with the Alpine Centre.
  2. Sit back and enjoy the view from a horse-drawn carriage.
  3. Learn to ice-climb up various frozen waterfalls in and around Zermatt.
  4. See Zermatt’s stunning scenery from the skies on a paragliding trip.
  5. Go tobogganing on one of the three runs in Zermatt.

Hello to all of you snowboarders and skiers out there, still hanging on to our last remnants of snow. Well, it looks as though the season is finally drawing to a close. Zermatt, however is still in full flow as 80% of our pistes are still up and running and looking in fine condition.
