Slowly the adrenaline of the last run begins to subside, and your breathing slows down again. You wriggle your toes to warm them up, and dare to wrestle your phone or camera out of your pocket, look at it, put it back again. Maybe you blow your nose or put on some more suncream, fish a few squares of chocolate out of your pocket, perhaps have a cigarette. And then? Calm takes over...

Following a banging few seasons of Scottish snow, we're planning to get Scottish resorts up on the site soon. In the meantime we asked our Scottish friend Andrew Black to recommend his favourite bars and restaurants - after all, the après is as important as the ski!
